2025.16 Chairman’s Report (SJ)
“ I am pleased to report that the Parish Council year has run very smoothly during this term.
The main focus has been the pursuit of a revised 20 mph speed limit in the heart of the village. Following a consultation of residents and a subsequent traffic survey a decision has been made to begin the process of applying for the new limit. We feel this would be a real benefit to the safety of our fabulous village.
As the White Horse pub continues to thrive it has generated issues with increased traffic and parking in the area and we are pleased to announce the estate are implementing further measures to assist with this tricky situation.
The work being done by Bartlett Contractors on behalf of Wessex Water is having an ongoing impact in the village but it is recognised that the reactive work done by Bartletts is keeping disruption to a minimum.
I would like to thank my fellow Councillors and our Clerk, Viv, for their support and hard work throughout the year and a thank you to County Councillor Carole Jones for attending our meetings and giving excellent advice and information.
As my time as Chairman is at an end, I would like to thank all councillors past and present for their support during my tenure and I would like to wish the incoming chairperson the very best of luck in their new role.”
Steve Johnson.
2025.17 The Clerk presented copies of the Annual return and draft accounts, the Governance statement and the Certificate of exemption AGAR 2024/25 Part two. The Chairperson duly signed all the necessary forms and the Clerk will return to the Auditors in due course.
Cheques for subscriptions and donations were duly signed.
